Half of Russians rent apartments while traveling, only a third rent a hotel room

Daily rental housing in the private sector has become the most popular way of life when traveling among Russians. This was demonstrated in a study conducted by the Avito Real Estate platform in conjunction with Aquarelle research. Received by socialbites.ca.

“This format is chosen by 47% of respondents, of whom 33% are booking apartments and rooms, 14% are country objects,” said the analysts.

Respondents named the advantages of this form of accommodation during travel as “low cost, flexible check-in time, availability of necessary household appliances and the ability to quickly resolve all issues directly with the host.”

The most popular daily rent is in the northern regions of Russia – the share of reservations there was 57%.

Then come the southern regions of Russia (52%), the Urals, Siberia and the Far East (48%), the Golden Ring (45%), capitals and big cities (40% for both categories),” platform representatives explained.

Hotel room rental ranks second in popularity among travelers, this option was chosen by 34% of respondents. Another 13% said they stayed in their own house, with friends or relatives, 11% in apartments and 6% in hostels.
