A seven-year-old dog named Molly was one of 102 Toronto mayoral candidates who signed up as candidates. It has been reported Toronto Star.
Owner Toby Hips, who said he would be the dog’s official representative, came to the station to register on the last day of paperwork. He came with a dog on roller skates.
As Toby Heeps explained to reporters, he’s only submitting the documents because of “people-centered” voting rules, but the real candidate will be Molly.
“He has a lot of big ideas to present during the campaign and will capture the imaginations of many people,” said the candidate’s representative.
According to Hips, Molly has managed to assemble a “brilliant team of consultants” around her who will come up with sound ideas for solving urban problems, especially transportation and housing.
Molly’s biggest concern is the excessive use of salt on roads that puncture her paws and erode vehicles while walking in the winter.
Hips is confident that Molly is perfect for the role of mayor.
“You may have noticed that people behave more humanely when there is an animal in the room,” said the President, adding that discussions in his presence would take place in a more civilized manner, thereby allowing “unraveled problems to be resolved.” It’s been resolved before.”
