Buckingham Palace has unveiled new portraits of King Charles III and Queen Camilla, taken after their coronations. It has been reported New York Post.
The new portraits of the monarchs were taken in the Throne Room at Buckingham Palace by British photographer Hugo Bernard, a longtime collaborator of the royal family. In the painting, Charles III is depicted in a royal mantle and state crown with a globe and a scepter in his hand.
His wife, Queen Camilla, poses in Queen Mary’s coronation gown, tiara and gown.
Journalists paid special attention to a group photo of the British royal family. The portrait depicts Prince William, Kate Middleton, Princess Anne and his wife Tim Lawrence, Duchess Sophie of Edinburgh, Prince Edward and Princess Alexandra, along with the monarchs. No Prince Harry and Prince Andrew in the family photo.
The King and Queen have issued a statement expressing their “most sincere and heartfelt thanks” to those who helped make Coronation Weekend “such a special day”.
“Knowing that we had your support and encouragement and seeing your kindness expressed in so many different ways was the greatest gift for the coronation,” the statement said.
