American actor and vocalist of rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars, Jared Leto, came to the Met Gala Costume Institute prom dressed as a giant cat. Photos from the event have been released daily mail.

Jared Leto, 51, took the Met Gala theme “Karl Lagerfeld Beauty Line” to a whole new level by dressing up as the beloved cat of the late fashion designer Choupette. The actor appeared on the red carpet in a giant puffy suit, after which he removed the cat’s head and posed for photographers with it in hand.

“I knew Carl. He’s always been very kind to me. When he sees Choupette in all his glory, I can imagine him looking down with a big smile on his face. So I’m happy to be here to honor his memory,” Leto told reporters.

However, Choupette was not at the Met Gala despite the official invitation.

“Many have invited me to walk the Met Gala red carpet in honor of my father, but I chose to stay in the peace and comfort of home. I have been paying tribute to my father every day since he passed away, and I am very impressed that one more day is dedicated to him,” Choupette says in the message on her social media page.
