The iconic white suit John Travolta wore to Saturday Night Fever sold for $260,000. It has been reported daily mail.
When John Travolta stepped onto the dance floor in the 1977 movie Saturday Night Fever, he wore a white three-piece suit and flared pants. In 1981, Don Williams, who ran Paramount Pictures at the time, gave the costume to his close friend Brian Wasserman as a birthday present. In 2022, Wasserman sold it to an American lawyer, Brad Teplitzky, who arranged a meeting with Travolta, who confirmed it was the same suit he wore 45 years earlier.
The costume was recently sold at Julien’s Auctions in Los Angeles. The pre-sale was estimated at $180,000, but it eventually sold for $260,000.
“This costume is considered one of the most iconic costumes in the history of cinema. It has become the symbol of not only the movie, but the entire disco era,” said the auction representative.
