Music artist Pharrell Williams will publish a book called “Farrellisms,” which includes her explanations specifically about fashion and style. It has been reported WWD.
The 168-page book, due May 2, includes explanations from Pharrell Williams’ interviews and various speeches over the past 10 years. A separate section is devoted to fashion and style.
Specifically, in the book, Williams calls himself “a black kid stuck on a skateboard” and admits that he didn’t understand high fashion at first, but then realized that “this is awesome”.
“And while there was a widespread belief that this was for women, I suddenly started to realize that okay, as a man I could wear some of these. So I can put sunglasses here and a jacket there,” one of the quotes says.
The book also includes a statement Williams made about the fashion house Louis Vuitton with whom he collaborated in 2012. The artist said the brand takes a “noble approach to the design of its products”.
Formerly Pharrell Williams announced Louis Vuitton’s new menswear creative director. He will exhibit his first collection at Paris Men’s Fashion Week in June 2023.
