American Vogue was criticized by PETA for publishing a fashion shoot featuring Irina Shayk and a Doberman with her ears cut off. Reported by the Daily Mail.

Although it is illegal to have dogs’ ears cut off in the UK, but the shooting was published in the American edition of the magazine, animal rights activists demanded an apology from Vogue for promoting animal cruelty.

“It is completely irresponsible to persuade people to buy animals with painfully cropped ears, which is illegal in the UK except for medical reasons,” he told PETA Daily Mail.

A spokesperson for the organization added that he expects Vogue to tell readers of its “mistake”.

“PETA asks Vogue to reach out to readers about this misconduct and apologize for the mistake, and also let them know that dogs “talk” with their ears and that cutting them off partially will not only harm them, but will deprive them of expressing themselves, communicating, and maintaining balance. It is a vital opportunity for us.”

The representative of the organization also expressed his reaction to the use of dogs as fashion accessories.
