On March 20, Cindy Adams, a columnist for Murdoch’s New York Post, announced their engagement.
“I was afraid of falling in love, but I knew this would be my last love. It would be better if it was. I’m happy,” said Murdoch Adams.
Smith, who was previously married to country musician Chester Smith, described her relationship with the billionaire as “a gift from God”.
“We both look forward to spending the second half of our lives together,” Murdoch said. The reasons for the disagreement between Murdoch and Smith following the announcement of the engagement were not reported. According to Adams, the couple will marry in the summer.
