On Sunday, April 2, residents of Paris joined the vote to ban the use of electric scooters in the city. Reported by The Guardian.

The reason such a ban was publicly debated was the significant increase in accidents involving this type of two-wheeled transport. In the events that took place in 2022, 3 people lost their lives and 459 people were injured.

Voters were asked to answer the question of whether they were in favor or against the use of electric scooters. 21 ballot boxes were opened throughout the province. The result is expected to be known late in the evening of April 2nd.

In 2018, Paris authorities encouraged residents to use electric scooters as an eco-friendly mode of transportation. Now, however, the city’s mayor, Anne Hidalgo, speaks out against them and supports the expansion of bike-sharing services.

Formerly traumatologist Razdobudko judicial electric scooter injuries as a “new epidemic in orthopedics”.
