The outfit consists of a long red robe with a white and black animal print, a tiara and a pair of plastic ears reminiscent of Charles III’s auricles.
The costume didn’t quite fit some of the royal family’s fans, who accused the brand of “mocking”. One buyer from London added that the ears were “extremely cruel and unnecessary”. “Bullying is unacceptable at any level,” he said.
The coronation of Charles III will be held on 6 May at Westminster Abbey. Prince William and Kate Middleton’s children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are expected to take part in the coronation. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not yet officially announced whether they will attend the event.
