Harry Potter fans get a closer look at the 14-minute presentation Hogwarts Legacy and found a connection between the game’s main villain and a character from Joanne Rowling’s books.

Hogwarts Legacy pits players against Victor Rookwood, a dark wizard who has formed an alliance with a goblin named Ranrok. While not much is known about the character, fans believe the character may be a distant relative of Augustus Rookwood, a Voldemort supporter and one of the Death Eaters.

Given Rowling’s penchant for unusual names, these are unlikely to be simple namesakes. Although this is just a theory, it should not be taken seriously.

Hogwarts Legacy will be released in late 2022 on all current platforms: PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
