French fashion house Dior will present its Pre-Fall collection for the first time at Gateway of India in Mumbai. writes about it hypebeast.
Led by creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri, Dior will hold its Pre-Autumn 2023 fashion show on March 30 next to Mumbai’s historic India Gate. The monument will serve as the backdrop for the first show of a major European fashion house in this country.
Announcing the show from her personal account, Chiuri revealed that she has been working with Mumbai-based Chanakya atelier for over 20 years.
“It was thanks to my collaboration with Chanakya that I learned so much about embroidery techniques still found in every region of India and the Chanakya Atelier’s unique ability to bring them into dialogue with the fashion industry.”
The collection will reportedly feature a range of traditional Indian silhouettes, including Chanakya Atelier embroidered silk dresses, evening coats and sari-inspired skirts on selected pieces.
