A 1984 video has surfaced online showing future Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh being honored as the winner of the Moomba beauty pageant in Australia. It has been reported Guard.

The video was broadcast by the Australian Television and Broadcasting Corporation. The video shows Michelle Yeoh, who was 22 years old in 1984 in her winning crown, moving along the platform with other Melbourne contestants and greeting the audience.

A Malaysian native, Michelle Yeoh studied at the Royal Academy of Dance in London in the early ’80s, but suffered a back injury and had to return to her homeland. There, under the pressure of her mother, she entered a beauty pageant and won the first place and the Miss World Malaysia crown. She then went to London for the Miss World pageant, where she finished 18th.

After that, Michelle Yeoh took the title of Miss Moomba International at a local beauty pageant in Melbourne.
