The Texas Zoo has returned the nearly 2.5-metre-long alligator kept in its backyard by a woman who stole reptile eggs from the zoo 20 years ago. It has been reported Guard.
The Texas Department of Parks and Natural Areas released a video showing employees loading an alligator into a truck and then dumping it in a corral.
“Crocodiles don’t make good pets, guys!” department said in a statement.
Department officials accidentally discovered an alligator named Teva in the backyard of a Caldwell, Texas resident as part of an investigation not related to the search for a reptile. Apparently it was held without permission. The woman admitted to stealing an alligator egg from the “World of Animals and Snakes” zoo near Austin, Texas, 20 years ago. She was volunteering there at the time and she put an egg in her pocket.
Now the egg thief is accused of illegally possessing an egg and a crocodile.
