A Patek Philippe watch previously owned by Andy Warhol will be sold by Sotheby’s. It has been reported hypebeast.
The 36 mm 18k rose gold case wristwatch was made in 1955. Engraved on the enamel dial is the Serpico Y Laino, which pays homage to the company’s past as Patek Philippe’s exclusive retailer in Venezuela. Beats the legendary automatic caliber 12’600 inside the watch. Representatives of Sotheby’s auction house plan to get $40,000 to $80,000 for the late artist’s watch.
In 1988 this watch was sold by the Sotheby’s auction house to a private collector. Many personal items were subsequently sold, including the gold watch, as well as Andy Warhol’s paintings, jewelery and interior items.
