Some women still dream of having bigger breasts. But such a chest can complicate the patient’s life – it will look unnatural, the chest can hurt and cause discomfort. Plastic surgeon Sergey Sviridov, chief physician of the SVSclinic Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, told socialbites.ca about this.
“Implants that are disproportionate to body size can cause discomfort and even pain in the chest area. This occurs when the size of the implant is larger than the size of its own tissues and pocket. Then the implant puts pressure on the surrounding tissues.
Very large implants are prone to rupture, according to Sviridov. They also tend to fall off over time, which negatively affects breast shape. Breast tissues cannot withstand the load and begin to sag.
“Another problem is not being able to breastfeed. The implant compresses the gland. As a result, the formation of milk and its outflow from the milk ducts are impaired. Also, a large implant can cause mastitis (an inflammatory disease of the mammary gland – approx. socialbites.ca) and breastfeeding, ”the surgeon emphasized.
Among other negative consequences of placing too large implants, Sviridov called thinning of tissues and the formation of bedsores in the lower slope of the mammary glands.
