After the heavy load on the digestive system on New Year’s holidays, you need to arrange fasting days and include certain foods in the diet. This was told socialbites.ca by therapist Olga Alexandrova, head of the preventive medicine department at Atlas clinics.

According to him, the abundance of traditional New Year’s dishes is a serious burden not only for the digestive system, but also for the whole body.

“After heavy feasts, it is worth revising the diet and eating less than usual – on the plate should be about half your normal serving. Drink as much pure water as possible between meals: this will help the body heal faster,” he explained.

The therapist recommended that I add low-fat cottage cheese, cereals, bananas, steamed or boiled vegetables to the “post-holiday” diet.

“They have a positive effect on the stomach and digestion in general, relieve the load on the body, low-fat food will help to quickly normalize the gastrointestinal tract,” said the doctor.

Alexandrova added that during the recovery period it is especially important to exclude semi-finished products, high-sugar foods and fatty foods.

“Sausages, smoked meats, cakes, sweets, store-bought sauces, carbonated drinks and juices, shish kebab, fatty meat, lard – these and other foods increase the load on the body, and it is better to refuse them. In other words, sugar increases general inflammation and causes a constant feeling of fatigue,” the doctor warned.

Former nutritionist Zubareva announcedHow to get rid of the habit of overeating after the New Year.
