Catherine de Medici was Queen of France from 1547 to 1559. Chiuri took on historical elements of the era, such as lampshade skirts, elastic corsets, fluffy white shirts, floral embroidered dresses, lace crinoline skirts, and floral print silk shorts. Renaissance-inspired pieces are paired with modern sporty styles such as cargo pants and tops.
Accessories include an old Dior scarf and a Book Tote bag with a map of Paris, as well as the new Lady 95.22 and Key bags.
The collection was shot by fashion photographer Brigitte Niedermeier, a longtime Dior collaborator, with models Freya Rothmann, Jen Thomson, Sherry Shea and others posing in front of the lens.
