Jewelry brand Van Cleef & Arpels will open an exhibition at the National Museum of Saudi Arabia on January 19. writes about it WWD.

More than 280 jewellery, watches and valuables dating back to the founding of Van Cleef & Arpels in 1906 will be on display in Riyadh. The exhibition Time, Nature and Love invites visitors to Saudi Arabia to immerse themselves in the brand’s history and innovations.

Nicolas Bos, President and CEO of Van Cleef & Arpels, said: “Visiting an exhibition in Riyadh should be a different experience than what people can experience or expect at a jewelry boutique or workshop. The important thing for me is not to beautifully display the precious jewels, but to present these pieces as a valuable expression of art and culture, crystallizing the spirit of the time in which they were created.”

Van Cleef & Arpels was founded in Paris by Dutch diamond cutter Alfred Van Cleef and his father-in-law, Salomon Arpels. Flowers, animals and magical items are often depicted on the brand’s products. The jewelry has been worn by style icons and royalty such as Grace Kelly, Princess Diana, Elizabeth Taylor, Wallis Simpson, and others.
