Princess Diana’s hairdresser will receive an MBE this year

Hairstylist Sam McKnight, who worked with Princess Diana from 1990 to 1997, will receive an MBE. It has been reported WWD.

The stylist was sponsored by Buckingham Palace this year for King II. It features on a list of 1,000 British fashion and beauty figures released to receive honorary titles and orders from Charles and senior members of the royal family, Princess Anne and Prince William. Orders will mark their service to the UK.

Sam McKnight was the designer of the famous backwards combed short haircut that Princess Diana wore from her breakup with Prince Charles in 1992 until her death in 1997.

The list includes the name of fashion designer Mary Quant, known as the inventor of the mini skirt, as well as Sam McKnight. The designer, now 92, will receive Knights of Honor for excellence in British fashion.

The award ceremonies will be held in the first half of 2023.
