Preferring to decorate their home with a live Christmas tree before the New Year, Russians, as a rule, hide the tree until the Old New Year. As shown in a survey taken by socialbites.ca regarding the Avito Services service, 56% of survey respondents have this habit.
At the same time, 10% of respondents admitted to removing the tree right after Christmas and 12% admitting to removing the tree after the end of the January holidays.
By February, 16% of respondents have a live Christmas tree, and by March – 9%.
“Until April-May, only 2% of Russians decorated the Christmas tree, and the leaders were participants aged 18 to 24 (4%). Analysts of the service learned that only 2% of respondents own a Christmas tree by summer or even next New Year.
They noted that the majority of respondents – 63% – still prefer to plant an artificial spruce this year. It turned out that 25% of those who chose live. Nearly one in five (17% of respondents) said they handed over the crumbled Christmas tree to recycling services. According to platform representatives, demand for such a service across the country has increased by 29% this year.
