When applying for a job in a new specialty, the resume should include information relevant to that particular occupation. Dmitry Puchkov, director of development of the Avito Rabota platform, told socialbites.ca about this.
“When preparing a resume, it is better to focus specifically on courses, knowledge, skills and personal qualities associated with a new profession. And filling out several questionnaires for relevant positions will increase the chances of being invited for an interview, ”said Dmitry Puchkov.
According to the expert, when applying for an entry or rank position one should be aware that a candidate with a wealth of professional experience may be considered “overqualified”, which will reduce the chances of being hired.
“In this case, it is recommended to adapt the resume to a specific vacant position and indicate the skills that meet its requirements,” advised Dmitry Puchkov.
He added that the reliability of the employer should be considered when looking for a job.
“An honest and open company describes in detail not only the working conditions and duties of the employee in vacant positions, but also the requirements for him; offers a salary in line with industry and regional averages; concludes an employment contract and deducts the contributions and taxes that must be paid.”
