The series gets terribly low ratings from viewers. The user rating was only 1.4 on Metacritic and 10% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Most fans have harshly criticized the new show, calling it a desecration of the universe. The script received the most criticism, but also suffered from unconvincing characters and poor acting.
This miniseries pissed me off so much that I created an account for this review. This is not a witcher series and not an actual prequel. It’s fiction written by kids in the writer’s room, based on a beloved universe. I almost feel like I’ve been robbed.
Terribly bad in every way imaginable. I don’t know what kind of teenagers wrote this, but they shouldn’t write edits.
I’ve seen horrible movies, but this one beats them all! The script is terrible, the acting is even worse!
The showrunners added agenda, identity politics and social justice. They destroyed and polluted witch knowledge and the universe. Nobody asked for this. We want Geralt and the real Witcher we know in books and games.
This series is the worst thing that happened to The Witcher. He also confirms the veracity of the rumors that the authors do not respect the original books and games of the Poles. I really hope they stop releasing new series and hire people who know and respect Slavic mythology.
I’d rather watch all of Uwe Boll’s movies.
Come on, let’s make a show based on The Witcher, but change every aspect of the original. I hope Netflix goes out of business, they just lost my subscription.
It’s not The Witcher, it’s a cheap imitation to piggyback on the success of books and games. A disgrace.
