Avatar: The Way of Water was recently released in theaters. And now the network has information on why it took so long to make the movie. It turned out that The Way of the Water would be the third movie in the series, not the second. This was stated by screenwriter Sherry L. Smith (Sherri L. Smith).
The bottom line is that James Cameron (James Cameron) originally wrote the script, but then left it. The original version, called Avatar: The High Ground, was supposed to describe the events immediately following the end of the first movie, but Cameron wanted to go further in chronology. Therefore, The Way of Water shows events many years later.
As a result, Cameron’s developments formed the basis of a comic book, recently released by Dark Horse. Whether it will be translated into Russian is unknown. Note that the scenario envisaged a battle in space, also with the participation of the natives of Pandora. Judging by the screenshots, this is all in the comic.
