“Avatar: The Way of Water” is still hitting Russian cinemas. According to Izvestia, the first screenings will begin on December 22.
It is curious that there will be no screenings in Moscow and St. Petersburg. The first screenings will take place in Vladivostok, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk (the only city with 3D screenings), Yakutsk, Yekaterinburg and Kazan. Residents of the capital can watch a movie in Ivanteevka.
The film should reach the rest of the cities on January 12. According to Izvestia, there’s a pattern to this plan: the more big-chain movie theaters in the city, the less likely it is to see the new Avatar. Most likely, major networks decided to launch shows after the Russian premieres.
