Former Givenchy designer Waight Keller was tasked with designing a wedding dress for Meghan Markle’s wedding to Prince Harry in 2018. In her documentary Harry and Meghan, she talked about the pressure she went through to perfect her dress. writes about it Page Six.
“When we looked at the design of the dress, we had a lot of talk about how you would like to present yourself to the world. For most of us, the wedding takes place with the participation of 70-100 people. And that means billions of people. Everything must be perfect, everything must be perfect,” said the designer.
Waight Keller designed an off-the-shoulder dress with three quarter sleeves and an elegant tail. Because Markle wanted all 53 Commonwealth countries to be represented in the wedding look, Waight Keller also designed a 5-metre silk veil that was hand-embroidered with the vegetation of each country.
Markle wore a Queen Mary diamond tiara on her wedding day, along with a Cartier bracelet and earrings.
