Bali governor says ban on sex for unmarried couples won’t affect tourists

Visitors to Bali need not fear being subject to Indonesia’s new sex ban law for unmarried couples. This was stated by Bali Governor Wayan Coster, reports Guard.

The governor announced on Sunday that the law, which will take effect in three years, will apply upon complaints from parents, spouses or children.

“Those who visit or live in Bali need not worry about being subject to Indonesian penal law,” the official said.

Wayan Coster said, “No marital status checks will be checked upon arrival at any tourist infrastructure such as hotels, villas, apartments, guesthouses, holiday homes and spas.” Said.

He also noted that the law was amended from the previous, more stringent version.
