More than half (51%) of Russians do not plan to travel on New Year’s Eve. This is a survey about the travel and travel service Tutu.ru, taken by socialbites.ca.

Platform representatives explained, “The same rate of staying at home was a year ago.”

At the same time, 20% of respondents said that they will be traveling during the New Year’s holidays and have already bought tickets and booked accommodation.

They do not know for sure whether they will go somewhere or stay at home, 12% of respondents, the other 9% are going on a trip, but will buy tickets two weeks before the expected date, and 8% plan travel and buy tickets at the last moment.

Most independent travelers who have already booked plane, train or bus tickets go on a trip around Russia.

“Domestic reservations in the airfare segment account for 88.5% of demand (about 91% a year ago). Among the train tickets issued, domestic lines have a share of approximately 96% compared to a year ago. The service’s analysts said that bus ticket buyers also prefer to travel within Russia in 78% of cases (up from 85% a year ago).
