Sticky, sticky, viscous desserts, lollipops and sour candied fruits are the most harmful sweets for teeth. Oleg Kurov, a dentist, told socialbites.ca about this.
“The most harmful to teeth is sticky, sticky and viscous sweets. Sticking “long-lasting” caramel in hard-to-reach places is not particularly recommended. I would blacklist lollipops, as they can leave microcracks in the tooth enamel, ”the dentist warned.
According to the dentist, candied fruits, dried fruits and sour fruits are not good for dental health at all.
“They all contain refined sugar, and the effect on the teeth is no different from ordinary confectionery and other sweets. Acidic fruits, especially citrus fruits, contain a large amount of fruit acids that contribute to the destruction of tooth enamel, ”the doctor explained.
Kurov called dark chocolate the most useful dessert.
“It contains less sugar and more nutrients and antioxidants. Cocoa in the composition of dark chocolate helps to strengthen the immune and nervous systems, stimulates respiration and prevents the formation of malignant tumors. Also, studies point to the presence of an antioxidant in dark chocolate, such as epicatechin, which protects against the formation of amyloid plaques that affect Alzheimer’s disease,” the doctor summarized.
