This year saw the release of the first season of The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power, which was well received by critics but heavily criticized by many fans. Recently, actor Billy Boyd, who played Peregrine Took in Peter Jackson’s original movie trilogy, shared his thoughts on the series.

I have looked it up. I really liked him. As a fan of Tolkien, I really enjoyed seeing all these places again – some of them for the first time: Khazad-Dum, Numenor and other locations. I think what gave me the most fun was the way they moved from one place to another. It made the series very watchable for me. As I watch, I think, “Oh, here we are in Numenor,” and then he goes to the caves of Khazad-Dum. I like it. It was also very interesting for me to see things like rings for the first time.
We recall that previously Billy Boyd, along with other actors who played the main hobbits in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, united to condemn the criticism of the Rings of Power. So did Orlando Bloom, who played Legolas.

But Elon Musk, judging by his comments, did not like the series. He stated that Tolkien is turning in his grave. The budget for the first season was about $465 million (not counting the money spent to buy the rights). The developers held a press screening of Atomic Heart
