New details have emerged about the future series based on the game series Twisted metal. They were revealed by PlayStation Studios Senior Producer Carter Swan. According to him, the project is a black comedy in the spirit of “Welcome to Zombieland” (Zombieland) and “Deadpool” (Deadpool).

Swann also stated that the project’s creators were able to convey the frenzied atmosphere and spirit of the original games. In addition, the series is expected to have dramatic moments, but they will not overshadow the comedic elements.

Season 1 was originally supposed to feature some sort of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome-esque battle royale, but the idea was dropped.

The series itself was announced back in 2019, but the release date is still unknown, although the first season has already been filmed. The main role in the show was played by Anthony Mackie, and the image of the clown Sweet Tooth was embodied on the screen by wrestler Samoa Joe (Samoa Joe).
