At this year’s Vanity Fair post-Oscar party, the stars effectively competed for “dress off” talent. Kristen Stewart and Halsey had a battle between sheer lace dresses. The vampire legend “Twilight” star wore a translucent maxi, and the singer wore an even more revealing model through which her underwear glowed.
Victoria’s Secret Angel Alessandra Ambrosio and The Queen’s Move actress Anya Taylor-Joy looked no less impressive: both stars chose dresses with a see-through skirt that opened up their legs.
There are many variations of “naked” dresses. They are not sewn only from black translucent fabrics and lace: models with a neutral beige shade, which fit like a second skin and imitate nudity, are much more popular.
Nude dresses are often decorated with embroidery or encrusted with stones and rhinestones, as in the image of Paris Hilton for the Grammy-2022. You don’t have to look far for crystal embroidered dress examples: Dua Lipa, Beyoncé and Irina Shayk regularly appear in these dresses.
Sometimes “naked” dresses are designed as chain mail.
This trend has also been tried by some celebrities, including Zoe Kravitz.
Those who are not inclined to clothes associated with the image of a medieval warrior choose clothes with metallic or silver ornaments.
Why do stars wear “naked” dresses? According to Anastasia Barysheva, founder of the MEOW’ONE clothing brand, it’s not really to show training results.
“The body has always been a subject of art. “Naked” dresses are, first of all, a cry for the removal of frames, bans and outdated stereotypes. This is not as much an external protrusion as it is internal. It’s a total performance!” Anastasia Barysheva explains.
According to the expert, the stars do not appear in public to show off their figure, but to express themselves – they are trying to show that they are free from any conventions.
All this becomes especially relevant nowadays, when the idea of loving your body, whatever it may be, is so popular.
Any healthy woman, regardless of her physique, can afford “naked” dresses. Again, the keyword is “healthy”. Fullness as well as extreme thinness has nothing to do with it”

Both thin models and oversized stars are translucent. Rihanna and Ashley Graham did not deny the habit of wearing “naked” dresses even during pregnancy.

When asked how we would adapt the nude dress trend to everyday life, the founder of clothing brand MEOW’ONE said, “Of course, it’s hard to imagine where we could go outside of the red carpet in an outfit like this. Wear them at jacket parties, for example, and remember we live in a digital world. Photo shoots for social networks. not cancelled.”
