Apartments in Russia are usually small. Not every family member has an office or at least a separate desk. However, even in such cases, designers advise not to abandon the idea of organizing a personal space for work.

According to Olga Bardina, creator of the Lanceplans brand, the workplace should have its own characteristics.

“The place should remind and inspire you to do what you love and do what matters. Instead of plastic cups and faceless office notebooks, choose up-to-date, high-quality decor and stationery so they reflect the value of your time and knowledge,” says Olga Bardina.

He also emphasizes that all office supplies should have their own place to be at hand.

SberServices specialist and interior designer Polina Tsvetkova talked about six simple and affordable ways to equip a full-fledged workplace at home.

“Equipping a workplace on the windowsill is an excellent solution for owners of small apartments, where every centimeter counts. There’s always plenty of natural light near the window, which helps your eyes tire less and stay focused on tasks longer. By the way, often this option for arranging a working area can also be found in the design of a nursery, ”says the designer.

In addition to the window sill, interior designer Polina Tsvetkova suggests installing a home office on the balcony or loggia, bedroom and kitchen. In the first case, it is worth taking an inventory and cleaning the apartment from excess garbage.

Loggias and balconies are the “gold reserve” of city apartments, which often turn into warehouses of old things and summer tires. We advise you to clean and isolate the usable area and give it a function, ”says the expert.

The option of arranging a workplace in the bedroom is one of the simplest. It only requires a compact work surface. But you will have to try and learn the rules of the agile trend in the kitchen.

“The notorious trend towards space flexibility and multifunctionality dictates the simplest solution: a desktop, also known as a kitchen table. A laptop, a stylish desk lamp, a handy organizer and a cup of coffee will transform this space into a comfortable workspace,” he said. .

The designer rethinks the functionality of the furniture in the apartment, combining two more stylish arrangement options. First, you can create a work surface in an old cabinet. It can be turned into a mini office behind the doors. It will be hidden from prying eyes or children if necessary and will not create visual noise. Secondly, optimization with the help of special storage systems – a folding or retractable bench and shelves.

In the last two years, employees of many companies have become accustomed to working from home. And they realized that sitting on the couch at the computer was uncomfortable. Designers propose to reconsider the usual appearance of the layout of the apartment and make it a rule to place work surfaces in inconspicuous corners and small areas of the house.
