The trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio has been released online. This is a dark fairy tale based on the original novel “The Adventures of Pinocchio” by Italian author Carlo Collodi.
The video shows Pinocchio himself, a cricket and some other characters. It is noteworthy that the cartoon will be a puppet. Made in the dark fantasy genre, the events will be set in 1930s fascist Italy.
The cartoon was announced in 2008 and was supposed to be released in 2013 or 2014, but due to a number of issues, the premiere didn’t take place until this year. It was shown at the London Film Festival on October 15.
