British actor Ralph Fiennes, who played Voldemort in the Harry Potter films, stood up for writer Joanne Rowling. In recent years, the franchise author has been hounded for speaking out about transgender people.
During an interview with The New York Times, the actor called some comments about Rowling disgusting.
JK Rowling has written wonderful books about self-reliance. About children growing up, morally oriented people. About how to get better and stronger. Verbal abuse against her is disgusting, it is terrible.

The actor also noted that, in the writer’s opinion, he doesn’t see anything transphobic. He is sure that the woman does not want to offend anyone and just gives her opinion.
I can understand people who might be angry because of her words about women. But she is not an obscene far-right fascist. She’s just a woman who says, “I’m a woman, I feel like a woman, and I want to be able to say I’m a woman.” And I get her point. Even though I’m not a woman.
