Fashion historian Tim Ilyasov told how Issei Miyake wore Steve Jobs with a turtleneck

Japanese fashion designer Issei Miyake, who died at the age of 85, was a close friend of Steve Jobs and the man who found him a “uniform” in the form of a black turtleneck. Fashion researcher Tim Ilyasov wrote about this on his Telegram channel. “Tim Ilyasov about fashion”.

“Jobs and Miyake met in the 1980s. Steve wanted to introduce a uniform at Apple factories, following the example of Sony, and asked Miyake to design it, ”said Tim Ilyasov.

According to him, the idea in the United States of America, the land of “cultivated individualism”, was not approved. However, Steve Jobs liked the turtleneck and ordered it from a Japanese designer. Issei Miyake responded by “sending hundreds of his favorite sweaters to a friend at once.”

“These are the ones I wear. Enough for my whole life, ”said Jobs in his biography, but Miyake did not have time to wear all the turtlenecks … ”the fashion researcher wrote.
