Russians began to buy more plant milk

Russians are starting to consume more plant-based milk: sales growth last year was 123%. Such data was provided by socialbites.ca in a study from the online food delivery service SberMarket.

The work carried out by the company coincided with Milk Day, which is celebrated around the world on 1 June. According to the study, the demand for plant-based milk has increased by 123 percent in the last year.

“Most Russians like coconut milk. It has remained consistently the most popular since July 2020, beating only once to oatmeal. Soy is in second place, and almonds are in third place. The fourth most popular oat milk and nut milk close the top five,” says the study.

According to the service, consumption of plant-based milk has increased 4.5 times since July 2020. The popularity of alternative milk is growing, despite the fact that its price is higher than usual: a pack of vegetable drink costs an average of 158 rubles. 20 kopecks.
