Actor Hera Sandler, known for the Netflix series “Unorthodox”, compared the filming process in the USA and Russia in an interview with socialbites.ca. According to him, they approach the issue of filmmaking in America more constructively.
“In America, the approach is very harmonious, strict and serious. “There is very little emotional communication on the set: everyone does their job professionally, each actor owns his role and himself,” he explained.
As Sandler noted, there is always room for experimentation in the Russian film industry.
“As for Russia, here they can go too far in aesthetics, not enough in the script – in general, anything can happen, but there is always an attempt to create something special, creative, special. Therefore, on the one hand, there is a difference in quality, on the other hand, the pearl is 100 percent,” he said.
Sandler emphasized that Hollywood today is “burning with the liberal agenda” and that is stopping it. What disappointed the actor in the Russian film industry is the attempt to “copy” America.
“It seems to me that each country should try to make films in an original way, within the context of its own tastes and desires. “In any case, a Russian TV series will not be Hollywood, and a Hollywood TV series will not be Russian,” he said.
