Extra shift at work accidentally saved a Brit’s life 17:44

A man in the UK said his life was saved thanks to an extra shift at work. His words are quotes New York Post.

Michael Lock, 50, went to work at the hospital to fill in for a colleague on his day off. Just at work, he started experiencing a severe headache and numbness in his left arm. The man was taken to the hospital’s emergency room.

The scan revealed that Locke had an inoperable glioma that caused swelling in the brain. Doctors reported that if the man had stayed at home that day, complications from the tumor could have cost him his life.

“I had no symptoms other than a headache that day. Even though I took the medicine, my condition did not improve, but I decided to change my colleague anyway and I’m glad I did,” said Lock.

Glioma is a malignant tumor that occurs in the brain or spinal cord. The operation resulted in a shunt being placed in Michael Locke’s head, which drained fluid from the brain.
