Briton Paul Goddard decided to help overweight men deal with psychological problems and created a calendar of his photos to make them feel sexy. This has been reported Guard.
The British struggled with psychological disorders since childhood. She got better when she decided to play sports and fight extra pounds. However, after the injury, his sports activities stopped and he started to worry about it as he gained weight.
“We all feel the pressure of social media,” he explained. “Men should have the perfect body and tan.”
In September 2021, Goddard, now working as a marketer in Manchester, had the idea to make a calendar of photos of men with imperfect bodies.
Paul Goddard, 39, said of his idea: “Why don’t you make a dad body calendar (with dad’s bodies — socialbites.ca to raise awareness about mental health?”
According to him, he is the proud owner of “his father’s body”.
“I have a small belly,” she admitted. “I’d say I’m pretty medium height.”
The British sought male models on social networks, but it was no easy task. If someone agrees, closer to the shooting, he refused to participate in the project because of embarrassment. He finally managed to gather enough people. The God Bods 2022 calendar was filmed in the basement of a bar in Manchester.
“We had guys from all walks of life,” he recalls. “And a few gay men, a few brothers, a pipe fitter, a construction manager, and museum workers. A true hybrid company. We all went after this – a bunch of naked guys in the basement. It was an incredible feeling.”
According to Goddard, the calendar helped ideal-weight men feel attractive. The men who participated in the shoot also talked about the project.
“The average guy with a small tummy or bad teeth can feel sexy and attractive even if the world doesn’t see him that way,” says Paul Goddard.
