American actor Fred Ward has died at the age of 79. Ward’s rep said the actor died on May 8, without specifying the cause of death.
Fred Ward played the lovable character Earl Bassett in the original Tremors in 1990, who along with Kevin Bacon’s Valentine McKee saved the town of Perfection from the deadly Graboids.
Ward’s first work in American cinema was the role of cowboy in the 1975 film Hearts of the West. Later, the actor became famous thanks to such films as “The Honest Courtesan”, “Big Business”, “Tremors”, “Escape from Alcatraz” , “I’ve Enough”. In total, he played in more than 90 projects.
Fred Ward leaves behind 27-year-old wife Marie-France Ward and son Django Ward.
