To make meatballs “like IKEA,” you need “homemade” ground beef, garlic, and breadcrumbs. This was told to socialbites.ca by the chef of the GIGI restaurant Nikita Ovchinnikov.
“Making meatballs at home like in Ikea is as easy as peeling a pear. You can make homemade sauce for them, just like “Ikeevsky” in powder form from a bag. And do not forget about the iconic cranberry or blueberry jam – by the way, you can cook it yourself, ”said the artist.
To prepare the same meatballs, you will need minced meat and pork, onions, garlic, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, salt and pepper. To prepare the sauce – butter, flour, vegetable and broth, soy sauce, olive oil, Dijon mustard.
Mix ground beef and pork in a large bowl until smooth. Chop an onion and a few cloves of garlic, add the egg, breadcrumbs and mix it all with the ground beef. Add milk, salt and pepper and mix again. Make small balls with your hands, place on a plate covered with cling film and leave in the refrigerator for two hours.
Fry the meatballs in a frying pan with vegetable oil over medium heat until brown on all sides. Transfer the fried meatballs to the baking sheet or baking sheet and send to the preheated 180-degree oven for 30 minutes.
To make a salty cream sauce, melt the butter over low heat, add the flour and mix for two minutes. Add the vegetable and broth, cream, soy sauce, olive oil and mustard, stirring constantly. Bring the sauce to a boil, continuing to stir until it thickens.
When serving, put the meatballs on a plate with any side dish: broccoli or mashed potatoes, pour sauce and blueberry or cranberry jam on the side.
