In Santa Pola, a lively roundtable titled “Between the Reels and TikToks” will gather local voices to discuss how Valencian creators view the online cultural scene. The event, promoted by l’Escola Valenciana, invites audiences to a fort setting on December 7 at 7:00 pm. Moderated by Xavier Lago, coordinator of the Lingüistic Volunteer program at the University of Alicante, the conversation will examine how content on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Spotify shapes contemporary Valencian culture and its digital footprint. Participants include notable Crevillent artists such as Stupid Goat, Maria Tangerine, and Berduska, alongside other prominent local creators who will share their visions and experiences from the frontline of online culture.
Discussion will explore how short-form video, photo essays, and streaming music blend in the Valencian context, offering insights into the evolving relationship between language, tradition, and modern media. The roundtable aims to illuminate how creators navigate trends, audience engagement, and the responsibilities that come with influencing cultural conversations online. The fort venue will serve as a dynamic backdrop for listening, exchange, and reflection on what it means to produce content that resonates with Valencian audiences while preserving linguistic and regional identity.
Event organizers emphasize the role of community as a driver of cultural visibility. By showcasing local talent and providing a space for dialogue, the Cassola project seeks to reinforce the value of Valencian language presence in Alicante’s diverse cultural landscape and to encourage sustainable participation from emerging artists in the broader online ecosystem.

The Cassola project marks the first edition of an initiative led by Escola Valenciana, in collaboration with the Cultural Society l’Antina in Santa Pola, El Raig in Crevillent, and La Gola and Museu del Mar in Guardamar. With support from the Generalitat and Santa Pola Town Council, the project aims to elevate the visibility of young creators and highlight Valencian as a living language within Alicante’s cultural mosaic. The collaboration underscores the region’s commitment to celebrating linguistic diversity through artistic expression and digital storytelling, aligning community heritage with contemporary media practices for broader recognition across the Valencian Community and beyond.
