Beatles historian Mark Lewishoh cave club Liverpool captured these never-before-seen photos The Beatles playing for a lunch audience or in the afternoon in July 1961″.
“I just came from Hamburg, where they played 500 hours in 90 days. The Beatles are these skinny, malnourished 20-year-olds. (John), 19 (Paul and Pete) and 18 (George).
Lewishoh said, “even though that[concert]marathon left them weak, their heads don’t seem to match their bodies. An image highlighted by unusual leather pants and cotton t-shirts. You don’t see them dressed like this in any other photo.”
“Three months later, John and Paul went to Paris and came back with what is called a Beatles haircut. Days later, Brian Epstein saw the Beatles playing on The Cavern, offered to be their manager and take them on a path that changed our world,” he recalls.
