– Why did you decide to present the story of Major Grom in audiobook format in addition to comics and movies?
— The media space is expanding, we need to give something new and attract new fans to the large number of BUBBLE comic and movie fans. It’s great that Major Grom is the one who will open up the audiobook universe from the BUBBLE publishing house, which can only be listened to on Yandex Music.
How do audiobooks and movies differ in terms of content? What is the advantage of the audio format?
– The advantage of the audiobook in the beginning is that you can listen to it during training or somewhere on the road. As for the movie, the story is compressed in it due to timing, everything will not fit there. The story of Major Grom is told in more detail in the audiobook – more attention is paid to his relationships with his friends, the love line and other points. It’s like a comic book, but even more voluminous.
– Approximately how long is the book – and is it supported by some musical effects?
— Approximately six hours divided into 20 segments for easy listening. The audiobook has a full sound design, meaning music and sound effects sound in the background of the narration.
— It must be hard to voice books. What was the hardest part of this process?
— This is my first experience in audiobook dubbing. And hard work, I needed to remember the speaking warm-ups, some institute basics. As it turned out, for two and a half hours it is very difficult to sit and read aloud – the sound begins to settle down, it goes down to lower levels, the language becomes confused.
– Recommend the speech warm-up method that turned out to be the most effective for you.
– One of the most effective, and one of the ways I use most often, is to take a cork from wine or champagne before recording, put it halfway in your mouth, fix it with your front teeth, and pronounce a few rhymes or the text you’re about to read. you read. Then you remove it – and diction improves significantly. But it is better to do it for a minute, you can not do it for a long time – it can bring your jaws together. Or do a few approaches, taking a break.
– Do you like your voice in the audio recording?
– No, I don’t like it. Probably most people have this moment of self-criticism: when you hear your voice on a tape or see yourself in a video, it doesn’t look right – and your voice sounds awful. That’s why I’m biased towards myself. I think I sound wrong. And in general, why me, if there are real masters of audiobooks – reading for a long time, gaining experience, because this is such a difficult profession.
– That’s what you said for the audio in the recording of the audiobooks, but how about singing?
– I sing – I managed to sing both in the cinema and in the theater. I like to sing somewhere on the stage or in the cinema, not at home or when friends come. This gives me great pleasure. To be honest, I’m not particularly interested in self-analysis and analysis of how it sounds – I’m not saying it for myself in the first place. More precisely for myself, but not to listen to the recording again – to enjoy the process of singing.
— You became the first actor of the main role in a major Russian feature film adaptation of a comic book and voiced the first audiobook from BUBBLE publishing house. What is it like to be a pioneer?
“I think it’s great to be the first to do something. You could be wrong and even get away with it a bit, because explorers always walk on thin ice and don’t really know what or how.
– In the prequel to “Major Grom: A Difficult Childhood”, expected to be released in early 2023, your character is played as a child by 14-year-old Kai Getz. Do you think she looks like you?
— Yes, Kai is a great guy, he looks like a young and handsome me. I myself looked completely different as a child – he was handsome and not so much as he seemed to me. One of the scenes is this spring in St. It was filmed on Isaac Square, I came to the guys, met Serezha Marin (who played the role of Grom’s father – socialbites.ca).
– Which of the projects you have participated in seems to you the most important socially?
– I know many people like “Fire”, “Major Grom” and other movies. Personally, I was most impressed with working on the series “Swamps” – I had the greatest acting amplitude there. And so – in each project there is something interesting and socially important for individual people, it is difficult to choose one of them.
– Is it important for you to watch major foreign premieres, including for professional purposes? How do you manage without them now?
– Why without them? Some of the foreign content can still be watched legally in online cinemas, as well as in world premieres: for example, “The House of the Dragon”, the prequel to the “Game of Thrones” that the whole world has been waiting for. For an actor, of course, watching new movies and TV shows is very important. I’m trying to do this, but there hasn’t been a lot of time to watch movies in recent months.
– Do you watch Russian TV series? If so, what was the last thing you watched – and what can you say about them?
— We learned to shoot very well because live competition emerged thanks to platforms. Platforms are the locomotive of cinema all over the world, including in our country. People fight for the audience and try to make the best quality product. Therefore, there are now many quality domestic TV series. From the last thing I watched, I really liked “Zero Patient” in Kinopoisk – Nikitosik. [Ефремов] big man, Karamora. The entirety of “Big Second” was watched quickly.
– Do you think it’s the future of online cinemas – or are classic theaters immortal?
– Actually, if you look at the numbers, they are the same mortals. Of course, I would like to believe that the cinemas will return, but so far everything is very deplorable. So it seems to me that at this stage the future of course belongs to the platforms.
— In September, Sochi will host the first New Season online cinema festival in Russia. What do you think about the idea of having a separate festival for platforms, would you go?
– Why? As I said, it is a great idea to create a separate festival for the platforms that have become the locomotive of cinema in our country. I’ll go there with a few projects.
— How often do you visit your hometown Zelenogradsk? How much has it changed in recent years?
– I flew the day before yesterday, I left for a couple of days. I feel great about this city. Much has changed for the better – a smart city system was installed there, and crime was significantly reduced. There are no clubs of any kind, definitely a family town, nice, stuffed and packed for a family vacation. Of course, the city was decorated and turned into a resort – there were a lot of people there. But old houses are not repaired – the houses where I live with my family.
– St. Petersburg, do you support the Zenit football club?
– Yes, I am drowning for Zenit, I follow the matches and sometimes visit the stadium. I have a great attitude towards sick culture, which is fine – but only when it’s not fanaticism and violating the law.
– How do you spend your free time?
– I can watch something, I can play on the computer. Go for a walk, ride a scooter. Nothing special – I do not embroider with a cross. I have no hobbies other than work, I am a boring person. I can clean the apartment, vacuum, wash things. This is what I love.
– Do you like to travel?
“Even though I’ve been to many places, I can’t say that I really like traveling. There may be 2-3 places I like.
– If you could be anywhere in the world now – which would you choose without hesitation?
– I would love to go back to Japan and swim in a mountain stream.
Are you connected to any place you see as your home?
— Still Petersburg, because I have been here since 2009. This is probably my home. Of course I am very limited, but still I have been here for a long time and spend most of the time. I am committed to Peter. I have to be here at least once a month.
are you a house person
– Yes, I do not like events and all kinds of public affairs, I do not go anywhere – it is better at home.
