Director Lars von Trier diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease

Danish director, Oscar nominee and Palme d’Or winner Lars von Trier has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. This has been reported CPH PUBLICATION.

Information about this was confirmed by the Danish film company Zentropa, which produces the director’s films. They stressed that Trier “is in a good mood and is being treated for the symptoms of the disease”.

The film company noted that due to being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and working on the third season of “Kingdom,” Trier will be giving very few interviews until the end of its premiere, which should take place at the end of the year.

The first season of Kingdom premiered in 1994 and the second in 1997. The series will premiere on streaming services and television in the fall of 2022. Zentropa emphasizes that the third season of “Kingdom” will be the last season.

Gita Nerby, Peter Myugind, Soren Pilmark, Udo Kier will return to their roles in the project. In addition, Nicholas Bro and Lars Mikkelsen will star in the sequel to the cult project.
