Former Aquarium violinist Andrei Reshetin in his conversation with the publication “Paragraph” criticized the group’s founder, Boris Grebenshchikov (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation).
According to Reshetin, Grebenshchikov created a whole space in Russian culture, but “he went crazy in his old age.” The musician believes that it is necessary to separate the work of his former colleague and his personal life. The violinist said that Grebenshchikov wanted “comfort, money and peace.”
“And there are so many good people here and everyone is against this terrible Russia. I think I’ll be with them too” – that’s the whole story. This is just conformism. “And this conformism was not brought up by everyone, it was brought up specifically by the Ministry of Culture,” he said.
Boris Grebenshchikov left Russia after the start of a special military operation in Ukraine. In June 2023, the musician was included in the list of foreign agents.
Currently Grebenshchikov and his wife live in London. The musician said that he left the Aquarium group he founded because some of its members supported Russia’s military operation in Ukraine.
Grebenshchikov in October acceptedThat it lacks a Russian audience.
Previously in Russia was created “Ministry of Popular Culture”
