The Russian House in Brussels hosted a concert of sacred music by the youth group of the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music – Contemporary Choral Music Ensemble “Altro coro”. This was reported by TASS.
The event was planned to coincide with National Unity Day. As part of the concert, the group led by the rector of the academy Alexander Ryzhinsky performed the program “Masterpieces of Russian Sacred Music: From Mikhail Glinka to Alfred Schnittke”.
The concert was also dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of Elena Fabianovna Gnessina. The ensemble performed the works of Mikhail Glinka, Pavel Chesnokov, Viktor Kalinnikov, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Pyotr Tchaikovsky. The highlight of the evening was the performance of pieces from Sergei Rachmaninoff’s “All Night Watch”.
At the Eastern Economic Forum in September spoke United choir of the Vladivostok diocese. The concert took place as part of the “Vladivostok Seasons” cultural festival. The group’s repertoire included both religious hymns, folk and patriotic songs.
