Maestoso Brass Ensemble UA is the name new chamber music formation University of Alicante Philharmonic Orchestra (OFUA) wind quintet emerged under the auspices of Vectalia to add versatility to the orchestra and to offer concerts in smaller formats to the public. Maestoso is the second chamber group born from OFUA under the sponsorship of Vectalia, after the string quartet Vibrato String Quartet UA founded in 2018, its patronage was taken over from Alicante by the company.
Maestoso Brass Esemble started rehearsal in May 2022 their first concert last July 7With a performance at Santa Bárbara Castle as part of the opening act of the UA Rafael Altamira Summer Courses.
Javier Lasarte (trumpet), Marc Gosalbez (body), angel beauty (tuba), pau lop (trombone) and Nacho Civera (trumpet) forms this formation, performing works by Anthony Holborne, JS Bach, George Bizet, Juanjo Colomer and Sonny Kompanek in their first performance in the old Felipe II chamber of Santa Bárbara Castle.
The five young people who make up the Maestoso Brass Ensemble UA are members of OFUA, but they already knew each other when they studied together at the Óscar Esplá Superior Music Conservatory in Alicante. There they completed their studies in chamber music with honors and At the beginning of their careers, they formed their own group by receiving various awards.
