Actress Olga Kabo said in an interview with socialbites.ca that Russian cinema has a bright future.
According to Cabo, it is important for filmmakers to put their soul into their work. He advised his colleagues not to trust Western projects, as he is sure that Russian films have their own uniqueness.
“Everything will be fine for our cinema! The main thing is that the films have a soul. Our cinema has its own style, we should not run after the West, we should not try to copy, repeat. You need to be valuable in your own right, not secondary!” – said the actor.
Kabo added that he misses kind and bright films in Russian cinema.
“Personally, I miss kind, bright and wise films. Today on the screens there is a lot of superficial and primitive things. I do not understand the bottom of humor, I do not want to keep my feet on the ground, I want inspiration and discoveries!” – said the artist.
Cabo also paid tribute to modern movie tales.
“What wonderful and bright pictures we make for children! For example, “At the behest of the Crane” or all the “Bogatyrs”. We enjoy communicating with each other and discussing what we see for a long time,” said Kabo.
